CHRISTEE

(Sponsor: Lewis Brown Griggs) Christee is gentle, soft-spoken and very curious. When she first arrived in 2007, she was very shy and afraid of people. Christee came from a ranch in Canada that used the urine of pregnant mares as estrogen therapy for women in menopause. Once scientists linked this type of estrogen with cancer and heart disease in women, hundreds of PMU horses were offered for adoption or faced slaughter. Christee was adopted with Jodee and Tessa and now lives as a free horse and cares for people in a new way.

Christee arrived pregnant but her colt died in birth. We are so grateful that she survived.
