Ways to Give

An Investment in Our Mutual Wellbeing

For our first 15 years, we’ve been funded primarily by charitable investors who give anywhere between $50 and $50,000 each year to the care of our horses and land. To offer our experiences to more people and to develop the whole of our mission, we made an enormous and expensive leap to move to Paso Robles. This has coincided with rising feed prices and other increased costs.

At the same time, we have a property with beautiful bones, but which requires significant upgrades to host the experiences and other events we envision to allow more of us to experience the horses’ gifts and intelligences. This will enable us to expand and diversify our revenue streams, but it’s a challenging chicken-and-egg: we need resources in many forms — expertise, money, time, talent, labor, materials — to operate, build out and sustain our enterprise.

With a small but loyal circle of donors, advisors, volunteers and our care team, we have built our dream thus far. But to bring this to life fully, starting now, we will need many more to join us. Will you?

Horses have many things to teach us: how to get along nonviolently in spite of differences, how to read and respond to unwritten messages and, especially, how to trust. This last, a vital ingredient in developing relationship, is one of their greatest gifts to humans. We need to thank and support them any way we can.
— Carol Pierce, a charitable investor in Flag Ranch
