Welcome to the Central Coast!

Lodging We Love

  • Coyote Moon Vineyard Retreat (pictured below, overlooking our pastures), offering the whole house, a 2-bedroom, 1-bath upper apartment and 2 x 1-bedroom, 1-bath apartments, called Sunrise and Sunset. First research their availability on Airbnb (follow the links we’ve provided here) and then email the owner, Lori Thompson, and let her know we sent you

  • The Haymaker’s Inn and The Hillbilly Hideout, both on the same property around the corner from us, are now known as Paso Robles Short Term Rentals. You can book directly with their owner, Kimberly Lahargou

  • Nearby Lilac Farm, whose 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage and garden room (with ensuite bath) are as charming as its owners, Neil and Gaye Vancans. You rent either suites or both together. Email Gaye directly.

  • Hawk Hill, a 2-bedroom, 1-bath ranch cottage 15 minutes northeast

  • RiverStar Vineyards, a 3-bedroom, 2-bath ranch house just north of us

  • The elegant Calipaso Winery and Villa is about a mile south as the crow flies

  • Allegretto Vineyard Resort, large and artful with a pool and more, 10 minutes south of our front gate

  • Hotel Cheval, small, elegant and lovely, right on the Paso square, about 12 minutes away

  • The Stables Inn, the playful, more casual sister of Hotel Cheval, a short walk from downtown

  • The Geneseo Inn at Cass Winery, containers reimagined as super cool rooms, about 20 minutes south of the ranch

  • Also about 20 minutes south of us is another little gem, Tres Burros Barn (that’s Three Burros — how could we not like it?)

  • And there’s always Airbnb with lots of great choices in the Paso Robles area.

The Paso Robles wine region earns its name from the Spanish El Paso de Robles, meaning ‘pass of the oaks,’ for its beautiful forests of oak trees.

Thoughtful Wines and Cool Brews

We are forming a collective of favorites wines, ciders and brews from craft makers who share our values for caring for our earthly resources and who will serve at our Experiences and Events. Family, and a commitment to honoring the Earth and its elements, is at the center of each. We encourage you to become members, visit those with tasting rooms, or order from them online.

And they’ll all be pouring at our Pole Barn Dance on October 24, 2024, and at one of our Ranch Tours + Lunch this year.

Matt and Alana Suroff (pictured with their son Maverick) fell in love drinking Grüner on the cobblestone streets of TriBeCa in New York City. Later, on a photo shoot in Paso Robles for their respective professions, Matt and Alana discovered their love for the Central Coast and decided Paso was the place to make their wine. Fast forward to now: their Tribeca Wine Collective is making beautiful, small batch wines right here on the Central Coast. Follow along as they grow their young enterprise on IG @tribecawineco.

At the helm of Villa Creek Winery and Maha Estate Wines, is the Cherry family: Henry, JoAnn, Cris, Camille, and Kenton. From their first vintage in 2001, their wines have captured the best biodynamic and organically farmed vineyard sites on the west side of Paso Robles and the Central Coast of California.

While their Villa Creek wines represent a few different places, MAHA represents one: the place where Henry and Camille grew up, and JoAnn and Cris built their winery and planted their vineyard. When they first laid eyes on their estate in 2003, with its steep, south-facing limestone slopes, ocean influence and high elevation, they knew it was destined for greatness. Their best barrels from MAHA Estate grapes are reserved for their MAHA branded wines.

Camille and Kenton also make honey wines under their Maddox Meadery label, creating delicious meads with certified organic honey.

Eleven years ago, Hillary and Anthony Yount (pictured with their daughters Ramona and Loretta) purchased a tiny piece of property high up in the Santa Lucia range.  Eighteen hundred feet above the Pacific Ocean between the towns of Cambria and Templeton, their little vineyard boasts a diverse set of soil profiles, including rocky limestone, clay, and sand.  Rainfall is nearly four times that of the nearby Paso Robles, allowing them to dry farm many of their young vines.

Today they have 7.5 acres planted with a mix of Grenache, Graciano, Syrah, and Clairette, and intentionally make under 1000 cases each year. They call their vineyard The Royal Nonesuch Farm, a reference to the great “tragedy” of Huckleberry Finn and a constant reminder to never take themselves too seriously.

Michael, Magdalena and Chris (with Café Au Lait) built The Blending Lab inspired by the core belief that wine brings people and cultures together. In 2014 they created an experimental winery concept that focuses not just on education, but also to reiterate that wine is fun and is also a very personal experience. The Blending Lab offers wine blending classes in their downtown Paso Robles location, wine blending kits and other great gifts, as well as their own blended wines.
